III. COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course has been designed to provide students with practice in making clear, concise, and compelling speeches. Students can also expect to learn how to evaluate and respond to audiences, and will hopefully acquire flexibility in varied speaking situations.

    VII. GRADING

    VIII Last Date to Drop, Writing Across the Curriculum Statement, and ADA Policy

    Writing Across the Curriculum Policy

    In  all Farquhar Center courses written assignments entailing  no less than eight written pages must account for at least  thirty- five  percent  of the final grade. Written  assignments  include self-evaluations, short written assignments, and essay  questions on the final examination.

    In  this  course,  about forty percent of the  grade  comes  from written assignments.

    Withdrawal from Course

    In order to withdraw from a course it is not sufficient simply to stop attending class or to inform the instructor of your intention to withdraw. In accordance with the center policy, contact your advisor to begin the withdrawal process. Students  should  note that the last day to drop this  course  is before the end of the eighth week of the term. The last day for withdrawal from this course is October 9th, 2000.
